WIZOIL SYNTINT 5W-40 A3/B4:
Quality Confirmed by Independent Testing
Motor oil quality is defined not by claims on the label, but by its actual performance characteristics. This is why WIZOIL places particular emphasis on independent laboratory quality control.
WIZOIL SYNTINT 5W-40 A3/B4 motor oil underwent a comprehensive series of independent laboratory tests conducted by SGS. The results provide an objective assessment of the key properties of the fresh oil — from low-temperature performance to volatility, viscosity-temperature characteristics, and alkaline reserve.
NOACK 7.6% — Low Volatility at High Temperatures
One of the most significant results is a NOACK volatility of 7.6%. During engine operation, motor oil is continuously exposed to high temperatures, and its lighter fractions may evaporate. Low volatility means the oil has a lower tendency to suffer evaporative losses under high-temperature operating conditions.
Pour Point −50 °C — Strong Low-Temperature Performance
According to the SGS results, the pour point was −50 °C. This is complemented by the CCS test: at −30 °C, the dynamic viscosity was 4,922 mPa·s. For an SAE 5W grade, CCS characterizes the oil’s ability to allow engine cranking at low temperatures.
TBN 12.1 — High Alkaline Reserve
The Total Base Number (TBN) was 12.1 mg KOH/g. This value characterizes the initial reserve capacity of the fresh oil to neutralize acidic products formed during operation. Sulfated ash was 1.16%. The combination of a TBN of 12.1 and sulfated ash of 1.16% gives the product a strong laboratory profile.
Stable Viscosity at Operating Temperature
Kinematic viscosity at 100 °C was 14.45 mm²/s, while the viscosity index was 174. These values demonstrate a strong viscosity-temperature profile: the oil retains the operating viscosity characteristic of an SAE 40 grade while also delivering good low-temperature performance.
The Key Advantage — a Balanced Performance Profile
A strong motor oil is not defined by a single figure. WIZOIL SYNTINT 5W-40 A3/B4 combines low volatility, strong low-temperature properties, stable operating viscosity, and a high initial alkaline reserve. It is the balance of these characteristics that forms the foundation of the oil’s performance potential.
WIZOIL: Quality You Can Measure
We believe that confidence in a motor oil should be based on more than the manufacturer’s claims. That is why independent laboratory testing is one of the tools WIZOIL uses to control and continuously improve its products.
